Ethyl Acetate
Ethyl acetate is a non-polar solvent with a clear, colorless liquid appearance. It is only slightly soluble in water (about 80 grams per liter) and has a boiling point of 77 °C. When exposed to NaOH (sodium hydroxide), ethyl acetate decomposes into ethanol and sodium acetate. It is commonly used as a solvent in adhesives.
Applications:
One of the primary uses of ethyl acetate is in the printing industry. It is widely used both in the production of printing materials and in the special inks used for printing.
